Canal Flats can be found in the Kootenay Rockies region of British Columbia. If you prefer driving, Canal Flats is conveniently located just off BC Highway 93/95, making it easily accessible from various nearby cities. It sits approximately 82km (50mi) north of Cranbrook and 165km (102mi) south of Golden. To the east, Calgary, Alberta is located 322km (200mi) away, accessible via Highways 1 and 93.
If you prefer traveling by air, the closest major airport is the Canadian Rockies International Airport in Cranbrook, located approximately 89 kilometers south of Canal Flats. It is a small, regional airport servicing the Kootenay-Rockies area, with flights mainly to and from Calgary, Kelowna, and Vancouver. Calgary International Airport is the nearest large airport to Canal Flats and is approximately a three-hour drive.
