Travel Columbia Valley, the leading destination marketing organization for the Columbia Valley region, is thrilled to introduce the new Columbia Valley Events Funding Program. This program aims to empower stakeholders to host fantastic events in the Columbia Valley. Event hosts who will welcome visitors and drive overnight stays are invited to apply for incremental funding for grants up to $2,000. With $30,000 total in funding to be delivered in the first year of this fund, Travel Columbia Valley hopes to support events that enhance communities and create remarkable experiences for visitors.
This funding program welcomes various event proposals, from cultural festivals to sports competitions and art exhibitions to outdoor adventures. Funding is available to provide marketing and execution support for new and existing events in the Columbia Valley (RDEK Area G, RDEK Area F, Village of Radium Hot Springs, District of Invermere and Village of Canal Flats). Eligible applicants include event organizers, local businesses, community groups, and non-profit organizations within the Columbia Valley who are hosting tourism-centric events.Â
“Travel Columbia Valley is always looking for new ways to encourage the growth and development of our community and the enrichment of the visitor experience,” said Jessica Fairhart, Executive Director of Travel Columbia Valley. “Our new event sponsorship fund is a major step forward in this work. By supporting local events, we contribute to the regional economy and create elevated opportunities for residents and visitors to connect, celebrate, and make lasting memories in the heart of the Columbia Valley. It’s a win-win for our community and for those who come to experience it.”
Supporting events through this funding initiative is about enhancing community experiences and recognizing the vital role they play in boosting tourism and attracting new visitors to the region. Events have a unique power to showcase the beauty and culture of the Columbia Valley, drawing in attendees from near and far. By providing funding and support, Travel Columbia Valley aims to elevate the caliber and reach of these events, making the region an even more attractive destination for travelers.
Travel Columbia Valley leads this funding with support from its partners, Tourism Radium, and the Invermere-Panorama DMO.
